Awesome dryer, mediocre app

Hands down, this dryer is great. We replaced a 16 yo front load dryer with this one, and the difference is significant. The large capacity is terrific when you are doing bulky items such as a bed comforter....they actually come out dry. I have not tested the steam function yet, but all others work very well.
And then there is the SmartHQ app. It's OK for telling you the status of your dryer, but there is ZERO functionality that you can actually DO with your dryer. Wouldn't it be nice on your way home to remember that you left a load in the dryer last night, turn on the dryer, initiate a wrinkle release cycle, and it's ready when you get home. Well, to bad, you can't do that. Because these units are very high when stacked, wouldn't it be great to load the dryer, close the door, select the cycle and start the dryer from the app? Well, again, too bad.....you can't do that. You CAN see that it's running and how much time is left, but of all of the connected devices today, this app is pretty weak.
The app setup btw is overly complicated, but fortunately, you only have to do it once.
If you do a redesign, how about giving a UI that mimics the controls on my dryer. Let me turn the knob on my phone to select the type of load I'm drying. Let me hit the start button. Etc. The app should work exactly like the controls on the machine. Oh, and telling me that I have 57,600 dryer sheets available? Do you think I hijacked a dryer sheet truck going to Costco or something? I have 1 box, and it surely doesn't have 57,600 dryer sheets. You can do better.
If you buy this dryer for the app, you will be disappointed. If you buy it because it has great features, and oh yeah, there's an app, you will be much happier.
