When its working its great

I bought this 1 yr 5 months ago. Pro its like a Tardis. It holds an immense amount. Keeps everything cool or frozen. Cons Design flaw on crisper drawer its top is glass and sticks out past the shelves. We broke it in a week. LG replaced it. 3 months later the Craft Ice maker quit. LG replaced it. At 1 yr 5 month mark the compressor quit. LG replaced it. Excellent customer service something I didnt want to personally find out about.

Best Frig

We bought the LG frig for a remodeled kitchen six months ago and have been surprised how much I like the design and functionality. I like the side by side design with a split door allowing us to gray a quick beverage from the door. Highly recommend. Temps are even throughout and love the craft ice maker.

Disappointing reliability and warranty service

I am not satisfied with the performance and reliability of this side by side refrigerator or LG as a brand. The fridge does not get very cold like my old fridge. The dispensed water from the same source as my old fridge tastes like plastic. The ice maker doesnt produce as much ice as my old fridge. The craft ice machine broke in a year and the service from LG has been unsatisfactory. It has taken over a month and still not fixed. Ive called LG numerous times and spent no less than 15 minutes on hold each time. Transferred to the wrong department twice. LG uses A and E 3rd party repair. Cannot even speak to a person at A and E. All automated and no option to speak to a human. Dealing with LG and A and E has been the most dissatisfying experience Ive had regarding an appliance.

Great fridge

Bought this to replace a French door LG fridge that stopped working due to a bad compressor. That being said it was 12 years old. Couldnt find another French door that fit in my budget so I went with this side by side. Plenty of room. Not a fan of the lack of a deli drawer. The craft ice is fun. All in all happy with my purchase.

Good Refrigerator

The side by side doors are okay but I think I would rather have the French door configuration. It just doesnt seem to work for the freezer space when its on the side. The best feature I like is the large balls of craft ice. Unfortunately it must be a new technology as I had to have 2 service calls to fix it. The last call was to replace it with a new redesigned model so hopefully that fixed it.

I bought this about two weeks ago and am enjoying the features on our new LG refrigerator with craft ice. Its quiet. The shelves and bins are made nicer than some of the other refrigerators that we looked at and they slide in and out easily. The feature on the easy access front door panel is great for grabbing items used frequently I am sure it saves on energy. The craft ice is a great feature as well. There seems to be one flaw with the icemaker. There is no tray to catch the ice so some of it winds up not going in the glass and onto the floor. I wouldve liked to of seen a catch tray for the ice and I also wouldve liked to of had black accents on the door handle areas and icemaker interior to match my other stainless steel appliances.

Bought this refrigerator in November 2022. I really like the refrigerator. It really cool to be able to see inside without opening. I also like the craft ice maker on it but the regular ice maker seems to freeze up a lot gets clogged up. I dont know why companies cant seem to get ice makers right. The refrigerator is very stylish/modern looking too. Overall I am pleased with refrigerator but disappointed with ice maker. So far craft ice has no problems.

Great features like Door in door

I just purchased this frig and was very happy with its overall size finish style and was most impressed with the door in door idea which prompted me to purchase it as well as the high ratings from consumer reports on LGs as one of the best. I would have given this a 5 star rating until I realized to late that there are no multiple rails for changing shelf heights . All the shelves have one setting except the top one which allows you to raise or lower by 2 Whats the Point? If you would like a shelve with say a 4 high to maybe put a carton of eggs on no luck. All the shelves are set t 10 with no way to adjust. The sad thing is it would have taken nothing in the manufacturing to of the interior to have added rails at all the places where there are useless indentions and then you could place the shelves at the heights you desired. How this got by the RD depart is beyond me . One other thing is the handle for the bins are on the bottom of the drawers instead at the top where it would be easier to pull them open another dumb mistake .Not sure if I will keep it as I have a few weeks to return it. Such a nice Refrigerator with a few stupid mistakes that could have been avoided if some one in the design departed had a few commonsense ideas instead of worrying about if I have a WI FI connection to my frig or craft ice which I could have done without.

Love 2 ice makers

My precious 2 year old frig ice maker broke multiple times. I love having 2 ice machines now. I went from the 3 door back to 2 doors because I felt hair and dust fell into the freezer section. The 2 door it seems the veggie drawer is so far down its like getting on the floor. I like the smooth look flat design.

Husband had to be home 24/7 to help me recuperate from shoulder surgery 2 rotator cuff tears arthritis/calcium calcification removal shredded bicep tendonotomy = UGH By a welcome twist of fate i received a small windfall and we gutted our kitchen...FINALLY after 22+ years of hating our ship galley kitchen with a passion...all of 6 cabinets and a tiny sink and no counter space - it was awful. He did a lot of research including a new subscription to Consumer Reports before we settled on appliances and this refrigerator is the answer to my dreams and he fell in love with the LG range so its a win-win :. My husband aka McGuyver relocated the sink to under the window and so on and so on and we utilized every inch of space~ Love the easy access door amount of storage the look - its a beaut minor cons: lack of adjustability on the shelves no butter door no egg shelf ALL-IN-ALL THANKS LG for helping make my kitchen dreams come true

Poor Door design using plastic clip to latch door that is used multiple times per day. When clip breaks whole door needs to be replaced. LG couldve put a metal clip instead of cheap breakable plastic. Or make replacement part instead of replacing whole door. Way to go LG

We bought this at the end of October 2022 and had to wait until more of them were in stock. It was delivered in December. The refrigerator was a great selection The features are all very good and it has worked well. The craft ice is a nice feature and those ice balls will last all day in our water cups. The only issue is that the half fridge door will not close on its own by letting it go. You have to physically close the door as it is not heavy enough to close by itself. Not really a big issue but it is something we have had to get used to doing. Overall I would recommend the fridge

Roomy Refrigerator

We bought this refrigerator during height of COVID when our older model had to be replaced. Choices among refrigerators with large capacity - that were available for immediate delivery - were limited in our part of Maryland. This LG Side by Side looked like a good choice. It has plenty of refrigeration and freezer space Temperature control is consistent and electronic settings and ThinQ technology are convenient and work well. We liked the fact that it didnt have protruding door handles - gave it a very clean look. The stainless finish cleans very easily with just a damp cloth. We werent looking for the door-in-door feature and frankly dont use it. For someone with younger children it likely would be a benefit. Weve has two issues with this LG LRSDS706S: both with the ice making functions. It came with a craft Ice maker - not a feature we sought. Its a nice feature but weve had to have it replaced twice because it wouldnt work properly. It made extremely loud clanking and banging noises when it was dispensing ice into the holding bin. Eventually it stopped making ice. Theres clearly a design/quality control issue here. Both replacements were covered by warranty but it took several weeks each time to get the replacement part. Weve also had an issue with the standard ice maker. Ice cubes in the hopper often freeze together and wont dispense from the in-door water/ice dispenser. We have to remove the hopper loosen the ice and put the hopper back in the door. Its not a major issue but certainly is an inconvenience and seems to be a manufacturing/design issue that LG needs to correct. We would not recommend this particular LG model based on the issues with the ice making functions but have other LG appliances that have met or exceeded all our expectations.

I love everything about this refrigerator. The craft ice balls are really fun. The door-in-door feature is convenient. I would give it a perfect score if the door didnt break after just one month. Im the only one opening the door so its not like I have kids or family opening and closing it constantly. In addition the door literally wouldnt latch so for a week until a tech could come out I had to keep the door taped shut. A refrigerator with great features but I am seriously suspect of its quality.

If I had to do over I would look for a different model. In the refrigerator portion It does not have a meat/cold cit drawer. Seems narrower than my previous refrigerator. Ice maker is noisy.

Great fridge with great features

We replaced a fridge that was 26 cubic feet. This one is 27 cubic feet but feels much larger than the one we replaced. The interior layout is great. The craft ice is a great feature. So far very happy with this fridge.

This is an awesome refrigerator. I love the easy open upper right door for easy access to the things I use daily. The craft ice is one of the best features and once the ice starts forming it takes about a week to have an ample daily supply. The temperature setting are perfect. The best refrigerator we have ever owned.

Love this fridge especially the craft ice and wifi option. Only con is the handle on the drawers are on the bottom part of the drawer which is ok except you have to bend over so far to reach the bottom drawers. If you have a bad back this could be problematic

I bought this refridgerator a few weeks ago and so far its been working great. Our older refridgerator didnt have an icemaker so I didnt think we needed one let alone two. But were all enjoying both the regular ice maker and the craft ice maker.

After one month we are very satisfied with the purchase of this LG side by side fridge. The icemaker is awesome with large round balls of ice in addition to the regular ice cubes. The fridge is also very quiet throughout the entire operating cycles.

I got this fridge in June 2022. Its a great fridge. The craft ice maker is really a cool feature and so is the door that can be opened to simply get some items on the door. The one negative I have is the top shelf of the door kets falling off and wouldnt stay properly so we removed it to simply have a lower shelf that now provides more room to put a bigger drink container. Overall a great fridge.

The water and ice taste odd after several weeks followed instruction after installation. The drawer pulls low down at bottom and hard to reach if you have a bad back. The doors slam shut so you have to hold them when closing. No egg trey or butter dish/compartment.Ice sometimes hangs up in dispenser

My husband and I purchased this fridge when we moved into our new home. It matched our suite of other stainless steel LG appliances perfectly. We love all the features.....especially the craft ice. The only thing that I didnt like is that the door-in-door latch is only held by a little plastic piece. And of course after a year of opening and closing the fridge multiple times a day.....that plastic piece broke. But LGs customer service is great and they are having it repaired. We will continue to purchase LG products due to there great customer service.

LOVE the DESIGN BUT

Great refrigerator and we love the door-in-door feature BUT be sure you buy the extended warranty Almost 1 year in and the latch for the dr-in-dr broke - no way to just repair the latch they had to replace the ENTIRE REF DOOR THE Designer Ice Maker love the ice balls broke and had to be replaced also. Even so we really like this refrigerator and would buy it again.
